Upcoming Liquid Jam Sessions

July 29th 2024 - Trombonist Tom Breeze

We are delighted to be hosting a session from the outstanding  Tom Breeze in an exciting trio format at the Liquid Jam Jazz Club here at Gresham Court Hotel.

As normal for the LJJC, Tom and the band will perform for the first part of the evening.  This will be followed by a Jazz Open Mic format where members of the audience can join the House Band to give us their favourite rendition - or just join in while others take centre stage.

We are very much look forward to seeing you at this next session which is our second in the LJJC series.

June 24th 2024 - Saxophonist Harry Dowell

Harry Dowell is an exciting young saxophone player based in Exeter.  Harry studied music at Bristol university and specialises in jazz performance on both tenor sax and flute. His biggest influence is John Coltrane and you can hear this in the intensity he brings to his playing, and also in the sheer complexity of his melodic lines, which nonetheless convey the core message and soul of the music.

Recently featured at the Sidmouth International Jazz and Blues Festival, on Monday 24th June Harry is making his Liquid Spirit debut.

Alongside him are Liquid Spirit regulars Gary Evans on drums and Tom Ball on organ and keys.

This trio format should give all three plenty of space to move and express their creativity.

After the interval the band will be joined or replaced - depending on numbers - by other musicians or singers in a jam session.
